Call for Speakers

March 12-13, 2015
Confluence: Education and Facilities
Hilton Columbia Center, Columbia, South Carolina

Defined:
Con-flu-ence

  1. A situation in which two things come together or happen at the same time.
  2. A place where two rivers or streams join to become one – the Saluda and Broad Rivers in Columbia, SC.

We are now accepting proposals for seminars/sessions for our 2015 Annual Conference. The Conference will explore improving the places where children learn. Topics of interest may include: security/safety, energy efficiency, sustainability (Energy Star, LEED or Green Globes), using the building as a teaching tool, ways to promote schools within communities to build support, acoustics in the classroom.

The conference is organized to present a balance between practical information and forward-thinking concepts.  A4LE-SC is most interested in seminars with an emphasis on experience gained from actual projects using tried tools, technologies and practices that architects, planners, school facility managers, and superintendents can take home and use or adapt. Presentations should use real life examples as basis for presentation. In an effort to provide our participants with the most useful training and information, we will not consider proposals with a commercial or product-oriented focus.
