Future-ready Learning & Art of Imaginative Play
Join the Las Vegas Chapter and Meteor
Education for an engaging afternoon focused on
the intersection of educational design, student
engagement, and future-ready learning. Through
an accredited CEU session, interactive experiences,
and collaborative networking opportunities,
participants will explore how thoughtfully designed
learning environments can foster creativity, agency,
wellbeing, and the skills students need to succeed
in an ever-changing world.
Session #1: Designing for Future-Ready Learning
Too often, learning environments are designed around efficiency
rather than the needs of the learner. This session challenges
participants to rethink educational spaces from the student
perspective and explore how the physical environment serves as
the foundation for developing future-ready skills such as self-direction,
empathy, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Attendees will learn how thoughtful, human-centered design
can foster student agency, wellbeing, and engagement while
supporting the development of skills essential for future career
pathways and lifelong success.
Learning Objectives:
- Analyze the impact of the learning environment on student
outcomes
- Leverage open-ended tools and flexible learning resources
- Design spaces that support wellbeing and student agency
- Connect early learning design principles to future CTE and
career pathways
Session #2: The Art of Imaginative Play
Imaginative play is a critical component of creativity, problem-solving,
communication, and whole-child development. This
session explores how the design of learning environments can
support and encourage imaginative play across all age groups.
Participants will examine how spatial design, classroom layout,
and intentional environmental choices influence creativity,
connection, and engagement.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the role of imaginative play in childhood
development
- Explore how spatial arrangements influence creativity and
engagement
- Identify design elements that encourage imaginative play
- Analyze and storyboard a play-centered classroom environment
