As the eldest of three siblings, Evelyn Janet Porter is accustomed to blazing new trails. She is a multifaceted polygon amongst squares, circles and triangles. Evelyn is passionate about being a role model in Society for and on behalf of Visible Minorities/ Transgender folks. Evelyn has spoken about Trans Issues; such as Identity, Acceptance, Self-Worth, and Leadership to the University Community, Churches, and the Press. Most recently, she participated as a panelist on a discussion about Inclusion & Diversity, where the Panel participants included Dr. Kris Wells, U of A Professor and co-Director of the University of Alberta’s Institute for Sexual Minorities.
Evelyn and her spouse live in the Alberta Avenue Community (Inner City, Edmonton) and share a vision of renewal for that part of the City. Evelyn is a founding member of the United Church of Canada Edmonton Presbytery Intercultural Working Committee promoting outreach and partnerships in the Greater Edmonton Church Community including Phillipino, Ghanese, Zimbabwean, Chinese, Korean, American United and extending into the broader ecumenical community. She performs several roles within her Church; serves in Community affairs and developments; all of this over and above a joy-of-Choir (2nd Soprano).
Professionally, Evelyn is the Civil Engineering Manager with Williams Engineering Canada Inc., and is a registered professional engineer in Alberta, B.C., and the NWT. As an Operational Generalist, Evelyn’s experience extends from Coast-to-Coast across Canada and overseas to the Middle East, always involved with infrastructure development and/or rehabilitation. She is actively involved with the APEGA Mentoring Program.
Evelyn’s passions are easily summarized as Family – Fashion – and Problem-solving. This is what makes her day!

Stephen Bugbee, Architect AAA, AIBC, SAA, MAA, NSAA, CAA, AIA (IA), MRAIC, M.Arch., Alpha Rho Chi
Stephen Bugbee is a partner at Zeidler Architecture. He is a senior project and design architect with a wealth of experience in multiple building types including educational, institutional and public facilities, as well as major developer-based residential and mixed-use projects. Stephen’s talents culminate in a holistic design approach from master planning and urban design to the development of detailed design and site administration. Stephen believes in producing unique and functional schools that reinforce existing neighbourhoods and contribute to the communities and students they serve. He has led numerous education projects including renovations, modernizations and new builds for public and private school boards. His recent project experience includes the Bowness High School Modernization and Marshall Springs School in Calgary.
Basima Roshan, MBA, CPA
Basima leads Innovia’s change and transformation practice. She joined Innovia after leading complex internal projects for a Fortune-500 company that delivered enhanced capabilities and increased effectiveness and profit. Basima guides Innovia’s clients through the changes in structure, processes, and people they need to meet business and market challenges.
Currently Basima directs Innovia's talent management strategies and change management for creative businesses. She also serves as an advisory COO to clients, providing focused counsel and leadership to optimizing operational and financial performance.
Basima is a Queen’s MBA, holds a Bachelors of Commerce (Finance), and is a Chartered Public Accountant (CPA).
