Conference Theme: Cultural Crossroads in Education
How does culture influence education and the design of our schools? The predominant educational system in the US and Canada is based on a western model whose roots are from Europe. But it is not the only model of education in the world. This conference will explore a diverse array of ideas and thoughts about education from a multitude of cultural influences.
Located at the Pacific crossroads between east and west, Hawaii is perfectly suited to host a conference with this theme. The demographic composition of our state is the most diverse in the entire nation with representation from throughout the Pacific rim. We encourage you to join us for a fascinating experience that will surely challenge your perceptions of teaching and learning.
All speakers must register for the conference. A discount of $50 will be offered to selected speakers for
full conference registrations. No compensation will be provided for speaking, expenses, travel, or lodging.
Primary preference will be given to:
- Proposals that include students, teachers, or administrators.
- Relate to the conference theme.
- Offer a fresh perspective.
- Show relevance and engagement.
- Exhibit measurable and achievable learning objectives.
