The Canby high school classroom addition demonstrates how a thoughtfully planned expansion can reinvigorate an existing campus by enhancing educational program while addressing longstanding community concerns. The tour will examine how the programming and siting of the addition creates indoor and outdoor community gathering spaces, how connections to the existing building improve access and wayfinding, and how the design of learning spaces provides new opportunity for flexibility, collaboration, and outdoor learning. The tour will also examine the challenges of connecting to existing structures that were constructed over various eras since 1929.
