LS3P was enlisted to design a multi-phase addition/renovation to an existing middle school to create a 950-student, K-12 school for this community. Numerous visioning sessions were held with students, teachers, administrators, parents and the community to enlist feedback on their vision for this new comprehensive school.

The design for this K-12 project was focused on creating a school where elementary students are separated from 6-12th grades, yet are able to share kitchen facilities and some administrative functions. The new facade along Trojan Road provides a real identity to this community school.

The project was designed to be constructed over various phases with the goal of an entire K-12 school being under one roof. Phase 1 comprised of an existing Middle School wing on the campus. LS3P’s engagement began with Phase 2, which included the addition of a new High School, some shell space to serve the future Elementary School, an expansion of the existing Middle School/High School dining room, new athletic fields, and renovations to the Middle School wing. Once the new high school was added to the existing middle school building, the old high school building on the campus was demolished. Phase 3 included the addition of a new elementary school.
