Dr. Zachary Stier stops by the show to talk about the transformative power of public libraries and their significance as hubs of informal learning. Dr. Stier has been the transformative director of Children's Services at Ericson Public Library in Boone, Iowa since 2011, introducing initiatives like NASA@My Library and the equity project, Activating Community Voices. He founded consultancy firm Mr. Z and Company, LLC and is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Illinois Champaign iSchool, where he developed a course on Early Literacy and Public Library Partnerships. Dr. Stier is also involved with the Fred Rogers Institute program and serves on various state and national boards. Holding multiple degrees, he's a published author and a recognized leader in early childhood education and library services.
