Chuck Saylors Named Chair of the Board for the Association for Learning Environments

Chuck Saylors The Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) Board of Directors has named Charles “Chuck” Saylors, REFP, LE Fellow, as Chair of its global board of directors. Mr. Saylors assumed the role upon the conclusion of the association’s annual LearningSCAPES conference in Chicago, IL. He was nominated and elected to the board executive committee in 2021.

Mr. Saylors is presently a Vice President with the Construction Management Division of M.B. Kahn Construction Co., Inc. of Columbia, South Carolina. He has more than 20 years of educational construction experience and has received both the REFP and LE Fellow designations. Mr. Saylors works with school clients across the southeastern United States with funding models, inter-government relations, strategic plans, educational adequacy evaluations, facility evaluations, and community engagement processes. He has been an active member of the Association for Learning Environments for more than 20 years and has served as a member or chair of several committees at the international level: Membership, Strategic Planning and Fellows Designation. At the regional level, Mr. Saylors has served as the Southeast Regional President, as well as President of the South Carolina Chapter; continuing to serve both bodies as an at-large board member. Mr. Saylors is in his 21st year of service as a Trustee for Greenville County Schools, is a Past President of the South Carolina School Boards Association and is a Past President of the National PTA.

“I look forward to working with A4LE Board of Directors, staff, and members of our association to implement our recently-developed strategic plan, move our association to new levels of strategic development to increase public awareness of the importance of high-quality learning environments, and to expand our association to seek new markets to develop our reach as an organization,” Saylors said.

He brings a high level of statesmanship and understanding of organizational strategies that positions the association for success during his tenure.
