The Early Years
Early Childhood Development can be defined by the formal and informal care and teachings given to children from their first years to 8 years old. Research has confirmed that early learning, in addition to nutrition and activities, will play an important role in the development of children and will influence their moral and emotional systems for the rest of their lives.
As facility planners and operators, we have the opportunity to design and create positive environments which can support and enrich a child’s experience through these formative years.
The A4LE BC Chapter Fall Conference will explore the early years of education; starting with a keynote presentation on Early Childhood Development; the importance of risk taking in children’s development; how the learning needs influence the learning environments; as well as look into the transition to and first years of elementary school. The conference will kick off with tours of two newly opened elementary schools which include fully licensed daycare facilities.
We look forward to seeing you attend our fall conference this November.
