Tour 1 – UBC Post-Secondary (Walking Tour)

3:30 pm Assemble and walk to Allard Hall, 1822 East Mall (6 minute walk)
3:45-4:45 pm Allard Hall Tour

The UBC Faculty of Law Allard Hall, a joint venture by CEI Architecture and Diamond Schmitt Architects, is a new structure located at the north end of the East Mall adjacent to the Chan Centre. The building overlooks a main campus entrance—one of the most prominent sites on campus.

5:00-6:00 pm CIRS Tour

The Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS) was developed in response to the challenge of creating a more sustainable built environment. Its intention is to be an internationally recognized research institution that accelerates the adoption of sustainable building technologies and sustainable urban development practices in society.

Tour 2 – UBC K-12 (Bus Tour)

3:30 pm Assemble in front of SUB to carpool to Norma Rose Point K-8 School
3:45-4:45 pm Norma Rose Point K-8 School Tour

This school is one part of the University Hill family of four schools, envisaged as a continuum of learning from prekindergarten to post-secondary education on the UBC campus. The Vancouver School Board wrote an educational prospectus for this group of schools to lead the way with 21st Century Learning objectives.

York House School is a leading independent school for girls in Vancouver. The new 36,000 square foot Senior School provides a new entry point for the campus through a soaring glazed portal and circulation crossroads.
