Presentation #1: Keynote Speaker: Learning Ecosystems by Design: Applying neuroscience to enhance school experiences for all users
Dr.
Page Dettmann is an award-winning educator and architect of globally-recognized
high impact learning designs. For more than 30 years, Dr. Dettmann has refined
her thinking and implementation of the principles of dynamic, collaborative
inquiry. She specializes in connecting high impact instructional practices with
elevated levels of engagement, achievement, retention, and attendance. Her
foremost dedication is enabling engaged, interested, curious, and inquiring
students.
Today’s students come to school with a variety of experiences that impact their learning success. Among those experiences is consideration that our K-12 students are learners who are a natural part of both the digital and the ‘real’ world. They have grown up with instantaneous access to the internet through a variety of technologies and software and are social media natives. Today’s students thrive in learning ecosystems where macro and micro space design supports learner and teacher engagement.
