Supporting Fluid Learning

QR Code When it comes to teaching and learning, the word of the year is “Fluid”. The pandemic has opened our eyes to new and improved teaching and learning modes and non-traditional learning environments that are flexible, adaptable, and continually evolving.

The Southeast Region and Virginia Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments [A4LE] are pleased to announce that we are combining forces in 2022 to bring you an in-person conference focused on Supporting Fluid Learning. We will be assembling the best minds from the southeast and beyond to share, study, explore, and discuss the many bright spots (good things that occur during difficult times) related to both learning modes and design for learning environments that have come out of our world’s response to the pandemic.

This year’s theme – Supporting Fluid Learning – will focus on three strands: “Wellness & Wellbeing”, “Environment”, and “Justice – Equity – Diversity – Inclusion”. Additionally, five enablers will inform our responses to Supporting Fluid Learning. They are: “Healthy & Restorative”, “Flexible & Adaptable”, “Virtual Learning Experiences”, “Holistic Learning”, and “Out-of-School Learning Experiences”.

Educators, students, academics, policy makers, school counselors, child psychologists, school planners and designers, builders, building operators, school suppliers, school safety experts, and anyone else with a compelling interest in improving learning environments are invited to join us!

Content experts who can elevate the conversation in new and substantive ways are encouraged to submit their qualifications in response to our call for speakers. Presentations will be selected based on content leading to new insights and deeper understandings that will resonate long after the conference. Proposed content should be rigorous and valid and should address at least one of our three strands and multiple enablers in a direct and applicable way. Collaborations that include multiple disciplines are appreciated. Student participation is also encouraged. Please note the sessions are to be educational in nature. Sales, product, or marketing presentations will not be accepted.
