President's Welcome
I want to welcome you to the North Carolina Chapter A4LE 2018 Annual Conference. I am very excited that you can join us.
This year, our focus is
Innovate, Collaborate & Rejuvenate. This is an opportunity to learn new and exciting trends in educational design, spend quality time with your peers, and stop to breathe a little (on the beach) in this very busy and interesting time.
The Sunday night opening reception will be held at the ocean-front Carolina Yacht Club (the view is spectacular). It will be a fabulous opportunity to make new friendships and renew old ones.
Our keynote speaker, Curt Steinhorst, is a leading voice on strategic communication in this age of distraction. I know you will enjoy his presentation.
The breakout sessions will be informative and provide insight that will help you in your professional life. We have a great line-up this year.
Our final day will open with our special guest, Dr. Joanne S. Avery, Superintendent, Anderson School District 4 who will talk about one of today’s most frightening topics for schools, with her presentation “School Shootings / Lessons Leaned”. The conference will conclude with the tour of a new elementary school in New Hanover County, led by our own North Carolina Chapter A4LE Past-President, Eddie Anderson.
I know that you will enjoy the event, and I look forward to welcoming you to Wrightsville Beach.
