Bill Daggett Featuring Key Note Speaker Willard R. Daggett, Ed.D.
Founder and Chairman
International Center for Leadership

When it comes to teaching and learning, relevance is more than just a word – it has become a mandate.

But how relevant are today's learning environments? Has today's teaching and learning left our schools in the dust of another century? How can we remake schools from another era to inspire teachers, engage students and embrace communities?

The 2015 Northeast Regional Conference will explore this theme with the help of one of the most respected names in education: Dr. Bill Daggett, whose Rigor/Relevance Framework has inspired educators around the globe. Dr. Daggett, founder and chairman of the International Center for Leadership in Education, will keynote the conference and explore the importance of matching relevant programs with relevant environments.

The conference will also feature MacConnell award winning project teams from around the country along with multiple school tours in the heart of the world's nanotechnology manufacturing hub.

Conference attendees will include superintendents of school, Boards of Education, students, facility plant managers, educators, construction managers, and design professionals. The interactive conference format will provoke discussion, debate and collaboration on how school environments have a direct impact on the teaching and learning – borne out by increased student performance, reduced absenteeism and improved teacher collaboration.

Sessions will include a focus on the following:
  • Inspiring the teacher – through programs, technology, integration and collaboration
  • Engaging the student – creating opportunities to be passionate and curious
  • Embracing the Community – finding connections for partnering, teaming and mentoring within the community and the school
