2015 Annual Regional Conference

Turning Learning Inside Out   April 8-10, 2015
Turning Learning Inside Out
The Westin Columbus
Columbus, Ohio
The learning environment has evolved from a one-room schoolhouse to double loaded corridors to flexible spaces heavily influenced by technology. The conference will expand the conversation on dismantling the current educational environment and creating one that redefines how and where education is delivered, which really is turning learning inside out. By the end of the conference, attendees will have a new perspective on addressing the needs of today's students and the environments which influence their education.

The MWGL Regional Conference will emphasize the overall goal of turning learning inside out through workshops and presentations focused on one of three educational tracks: Planning, 21st Century Design, and Funding & Delivery. To reinforce the goal, some workshops and presentations will be held in venues outside of the conference hotel as a way to demonstrate how schools can utilize community resources to provide instruction to students. The venues will also provide a platform from which speakers and presenters, will share planning and design successes that have resulted in the creation of healthy, safe, resilient, and sustainable 21st Century learning environments, in both traditional and non-traditional educational settings.

Together, we can have a significant impact on redefining the educational environment and proving that learning can occur everywhere. Come join us as we further define and facilitate the conversation on what it means to turn learning inside out and how this trend will impact the construction and renovation of school buildings in the future.
