Southern Region Planner of the Year Award 2021

Jimmy Disler Jimmy Disler
Congratulations to Jimmy Disler, Chief Facilities Officer, Leander ISD, on being awarded the Southern Region Planner of the Year Award for 2021!

Jimmy has spent the last 23 years of his 35 plus year career with Leander ISD improving the learning environment for all students and has managed $1.74 Billion in bond funding during that time. He has also witnessed the growth of the A4LE CTX Chapter from a fledging organization in the late ‘90s to the current robust membership that continues to grow with the dynamic growth of our region. His various roles within A4LE have been CTX Chapter President, Southern Region President and Southern Region Representative to the International Board.

In Jimmy’s own words “Thank you for this award, it is truly an honor. I have been so blessed to work with great people, many from our chapter, and everyone has made me look good. The Central Texas chapter played a huge role in this. When I took over construction for LISD, I leaned on a lot of people from this chapter, from architects, engineers, and contractors, to help me gain so much knowledge. I encourage those that are new to this profession, lean on other members of this chapter/organization. We are all here for the same reason and want to help. When we do this, it makes us all look good. So Thank You for all of your support over the years.”

Chapter meetings are typically held the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Most meetings are set-up so that our members can earn AIA & ALEP credits by attending. The opportunity to earn these credits will be limited to the Association for Learning Environments members, so if you have been attending our meetings as a guest, now might be a good time to join our organization so that you don't miss out on earning the credits. For most meetings, Association for Learning Environments members can earn 1.0 AIA Learning Units and/or a 1.0 ALEP credit by attending.
